It’s a real, in-person French program in the heart of Aix-en-Provence, built for adults who are ready to actually speak — not just study.

 

Led by Stephanie Safian — 22 years teaching French, nearly 3,000 students, trained at the Sorbonne and a graduate of Stanford University with a degree in the teaching of French. Classes are small and personal: just 4 to 6 students, meeting in person twice a week in a stunning historic hôtel particulier. You’ll come to know your classmates. You’ll practice together, laugh together, and build real confidence together.

• Student-focused & interactive: Most of class time is spent talking, practicing, and working through interactive exercises with a partner — marker boards, games, real conversation — because that’s how fluency actually happens.

• Progressive structure: Each quarter teaches specific grammar & vocabulary, working steadily toward real communication. Ideally, students continue through all three quarters, each building on the last — though each atelier is also complete on its own.

• Real-world practice every week: Each week’s theme connects to guided practice in town with collaborating merchants, who welcome students with patience and encouragement — turning classroom French into real conversation and a genuine connection to the local community

• Monthly private lesson: One-on-one support included, every month

• Celebratory Mediterranean excursion: A seaside lunch included at the end of each session, marking how far you’ve come, surrounded by the people who got there with you - French, on the sea : Français Sur Mer.
